Orginally built in 1825 as a ruin, this unique Grade II listed building has been sympathetically transformed into two lovely detached gate houses, yet retaining all the visual appearances of a ruin. It was purchased after the closure of Hunmanby Hall School for girsl in 1998. Michael Whitaker began his symphatetic restoration in the summer of 2003 and these two delightful and charming holiday cottages were completed in May 2004. Built in stone from Filey Brigg. The Follies is set in an acre of natural grounds and visitors are welcome to wonder through them. There is an abundance of wildlife including rabbits, owls, bats and squirrels.
Beautiful, sandy beaches, 9-hole golf course locally, fishig available nearby, and RSBB reserve at Bempton Cliffs providing interest for bird-watchers.
The historic city of York, picturesque town of Filey, beautiful seaside resorts - Scarborough and Bridlington. Yorkshire Moors and Wolds.
